The Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region are joining forces, in the context of the Mediterranean Economic Week, to instigate a debate on: “Tourism in the Mediterranean: Driving Integrated and Sustainable Development, Enhancing Heritage and Cultural Exchanges”.
The aim of this event is to create a space for dialogue between different actors working for an integrated and sustainable development in the Mediterranean (Ministers, elected local, regional and national authorities, civil society, stakeholders...) in order to:
- Draw lessons from the implementation of public policies on tourism development in the context of increasing tourist flows;
- Bring new insights on several topics linked to the development of an integrated approach on tourism, the question of regulating tourists’ flows; sustainability; economic diversification generating revenues and employment; and the preservation of cultural and natural heritage.
