#UrbanOctober Local and regional governments work for the transformation our systems to ensure an equitable and resilient future
The transformation of the planet that we are witnessing needs to be followed by the transformation of our systems. This is the only way to ensure a future that is equitable, resilient, and safe for all. In line with this year’s Urban Octobermonths, UCLG has emphasized the importance of a resilient recovery at the World Forum of Intermediary Cities of the World, which took place in Kütahya, in which we committed to contribute to the Common Agenda by bringing the experiences of our territories. Our Culture Summit in Izmir also allowed us to bring to light how culture is an essential part of a resilient recovery and the fourth pillar of sustainable development, and expanded our partnerships with the cultural sector.

The upcoming meetings of the UCLG Policy Councils and the UCLG World Council will bring to the table some of the most critical topics for our constituency, as well as the need to co-create a smart recovery with our communities, and pave the way for the renewal of the social contract at our 2022 World Congress
