The Mediterranean Committee collaborates with the Anna Lindh Foundation within the framework of the “DAWRAK– Citizens for dialogue” project. The DAWRAK programme launched by the Anna Lindh Foundation aims at building the capacity of civil society organisations and citizens in order to develop and enhance their participation in public life.
One of the programme’s components is dedicated to youth participation in local dialogue and targets the following objectives:
- Bringing together local and regional authorities and youth organisations;
- Exploring new forms of participation in local and regional development and policy implementation.
The Mediterranean Committee of UCLG collaborates with this project and suggests that elected officials from Southern and Eastern shores of the Mediterranean become involved by presenting their initiatives to promote the dialogue with the youth in their territories. To this end, you will find attached a questionnaire that is the first stage in identifying dialogue initiatives and their location throughout the region.
This information will also enable the Mediterranean Committee of UCLG to promote and highlight existing initiatives for developing civil society participation in local life.
