Heads of State and Government, Ministers, parliamentarians, leaders from international organisations, business, civil society, foundations and other key development players will gather at the Banamex Congress Centre to review global progress in making development co-operation more effective and take steps to boost progress in effective development co-operation.
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) deadline of 2015 is fast approaching. Phenomenal gains have been made, yet poverty still afflicts one in seven people around the world – and one in eight still go to bed hungry.
With less than two years to go before the MDG target date, the first Global Partnership High-Level Meeting will reconfirm the importance of effective development co-operation in meeting the MDGs and as a key part of the ‘how’ of the next global development framework.
