Annemarie Jorritsma new CEMR President

Ms. Annemarie Jorritsma-Lebbink,, President of the the association of Netherlands municipalities (VNG) and Mayor of the Duch city of Almere, was elected yesterday in Prague as the new President of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, (CEMR). CEMR is the European Section of UCLG and represents the associations of municipalities and regions in Europe.

Ms. Jorritsma will be the CEMR President for the next 3 years forming the political leadership of the European Section of UCLG together with the two new Co-Presidents, Íñigo Joaquin La Serna Hernaiz (Mayor of Santander and President of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces -FEMP-) and Giorgio Orsoni (Mayor of Venice and president of the Italian Association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions - AICCRE-).
