In a virtual meeting hosted on the 3rd of September 2021, 15 mayors and governors, and representatives from a total of 25 cities representing the world’s largest economies gathered as the Urban 20 (U20) Mayors Summit, convened by United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and C40 Cities (C40), presented their vision for a green, just and local recovery from COVID-19 and urged their national leaders to work together to foster greater collaboration with cities and local governments to accelerate solutions to the climate, health, economic and social crisis.
