The statement he delivered also addressed the need to recover trust between communities and the institutions that represent them through a more community-based inclusive multilateral system, the renewal of local democracy, and the development of the next generation of human rights.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that it is not possible to separate the protection of health from other public services. The current situation has also opened up new spaces for collaboration between actors working on different levels and areas to respond together to joint challenges.
UCLG and PSI, in partnership with Metropolis and UN-Habitat and the ILO, organize a Live Learning Experience for local and regional governments on 13th May from 15:00 to 17:00 (CEST).
