1. What are your expectations for the Rabat 2013 World Summit?

Almost a decade after the creation of Agenda 21 for culture, and in the light of the new scenarios, the city of Buenos Aires, co-president of the Committee on culture of UCLG, organises an international seminar to discuss and to update the conceptual bases of the work of the Committee.

On June 4, UCLG participated in the Development Partners Working Group on Decentralisation and Local Governance (DeLog) meeting in New York.

 "It is often said that, like all politics, all development is ultimately local.  As the world strives for a more sustainable path in the years ahead, particularly beyond 2015, local voices and local action will be crucial elements in our quest.

Elected representatives of local and regional governments were welcomed by the Vice President of ECOSOC and UN Secretary General Representative in New York. The UN Secretary General sent the following message to participants: "I welcome the creation of the Global Taskforce of Loc
