Europe's cities face an uncertain future. After centuries in which Western cities drove the global economy, power is shifting to the East and to the South. At the same time the financial crisis has exposed underlying weaknesses in European economies. For the first time in generations, low and middle income Europeans are facing the prospect of living standards falling below that of their parents.
The conference will bring together London, European and global city leaders, urbanists, and economists to explore the challenges facing Europe’s urban economies, the future of its financial centres and how London and other European cities can remain successful and inclusive in a fast globalising world.
