The United Cities and Local Governments calls for candidatures to renew its presidency and treasurer.
The Presidency is the principal representative of the World Organization of Cities and Local Governments and will be elected by its World Council, which will meet on 4 October 2013 in Rabat.
This authority, comprising the President and up to 5 Co-Presidents is elected by the World Council from among local government members for a renewable term between two ordinary sessions of the General Assembly.
Regarding the Treasurer, the person in charge will be responsible for the oversight of the financial strategy, accounting and management of United Cities and Local Governments’ finances, chairs its Financial Management Committee and shall also be elected by the UCLG World Council next October in Rabat. Both processes take gender balance into account.
Candidacies for both posts must be presented by 20 June 2013. After verification of criteria, they will be posted on this website.
