UCLG supported the #Act4SDGs campaign and encouraged its members to "act for SDGs"!

This is why on the occasion of this historic day we joined the #Act4SDGs campaign, launched by the UN SDG Action Campaign, Action for Sustainable Development and national coalitions of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP). The campaign was a global call upon citizens, institutions, and organizations around the world to take concrete actions to reaffirm the global commitment for the achievement of the SDGs.

We have continuously pushed for the acknowledgement of local governments as key actors in the achievement of the agendas, especially within the UN System, and we know that the global goals can only be achieved at the local level. This global campaign was an opportunity for us to continue proving that only if local spheres of governments participate in the implementation of the agendas at all levels, will the global goals become a reality.

The Global Goals can only be achieved with our leadership, and through the #Act4SDGs campaign we made our collective voices heard! #Listen2Cities
