Rolando Zapata Bello, Governor of the State of Yucatan, México, and President of the Working Group on Responsible Tourism and Sustainable Development started the “tourist welfare” program which objective is to boost social and community programs linked to the touristic activity.
The main objective of the program is to boost social and community programs linked to the touristic activity that permits to generate better living conditions for the Mayan and marginalized population.
