From 9-13 of February, United Cities and Local Governments will come together for a Retreat and Campus in Barcelona, home of the organization’s World Secretariat. The Retreat and Campus will bring together representatives of UCLG Sections and Regions, UCLG committees, as well as international agencies, private sector partners and civil society organizations. Development Cooperation, Cooperación descentralizada, Local Governance - 28/01/2015
On 28 January, the European Commission and UCLG signed the first partnership agreement on development cooperation. This political agreement covers five networks of local and regional governments, all of whom commit to take actions based on common values and objectives. This new partnership represents an important step forward for the involvement of local and regional governments in development policies. (+)
