Gobernanza local, Local Governance - 31/10/2018
In Buenos Aires, 35 Mayors and city representatives gathered at the Urban 20 Summit (U20) at the invitation of Mayor Horacio Larreta on 29 and 30 October. They pledged to promote dialogue and cooperation between the G20 and cities around the world and presented a common position to G20 President Mauricio Macri.

UCLG and its Africa section organize a learning event on localizing with UN DESA and a debate on transparency. The 2018 UN Public Service Forum, organized by the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), focused on “Transforming Governance to Realize the Sustainable Development Goals”. The event held from 21-23 June in Marrakesh, Morocco, was an opportunity to highlight the pivotal role that public services play in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

LocalizingSDGs, SDG15 - 05/06/2018
Mohamed Mezghani is the Secretary General of UITP, the International Association of Public Transport. UITP is a passionate champion of sustainable urban mobility and it is the only worldwide network that brings together all public transport stakeholders and all sustainable transport modes.
Emilia Saiz is the Secretary General of UCLG, United Cities and Local Governments. UCLG is the world organization of local and regional governments and their associations, representing and defending their interests on the world stage.

New Urban Agenda - 04/10/2017
This year Urban October kicked off with World Habitat Day on 2 October celebrating and will end on 31 October with the celebration of World Cities Day. With two international days directly related to urbanization and sustainable development, the Urban October will see a number of events and celebrations taking place worldwide.

Disaster Risk Reduction - 12/12/2016
The Fifth Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction will take place from 22 to 26 May 2017 in Cancun (Mexico). It is recognized by the General Assembly of the United Nations as the principal global forum for discussion, partnership, implementation and the evaluation of international strategies and instruments for disaster risk reduction. Ciudades intermedias, Ciudades Inteligentes - 16/06/2014
Entre los días 10 y 12 de Junio, se llevó a cabo en IFEMA, Madrid el Foro de las ciudades, contando con la participación de CGLU y de otras instituciones. Al foro acudieron alcaldes y gestores de ciudades Ibero-americanas para debatir temas tales como: sostenibilidad, gestión de servicios, espacio público, gobernanza, entre muchos otros puntos de enlace sobre el trabajo de redes. El Foro de las Ciudades Sostenibles se perfiló como una plataforma para el intercabio y evaulación de expreriencias entre las ciudades.
