Thirty-three country profiles of the 2019 Report of the World Observatory on Subnational Government Finance and Investment were translated from English into French and Spanish and are now available on the Observatory’s web portal.
The World Observatory on Subnational Government Finance and Investment is a joint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and UCLG, launched with the support of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), the French Development Agency (AFD), the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and the Development Partners Network on Decentralisation and Local Governance (DeLoG).
It aims to collect and make available systematised and comparable data and information on SNG finance and investment worldwide, with a view to informing the public debate on fiscal decentralisation at all levels, in support of the implementation of the global agendas.
In 2019, the World Observatory on Subnational Government Finance and Investment launched its first report, that provides a comparative analysis of multilevel governance arrangements, territorial organisation, and subnational government responsibilities, finance and investment in 122 countries. Both the country profiles and the key findings that make up the 2019 Report are available online on a dedicated website. In addition, a database compiling all the quantitative data and an interactive tool to browse these data can also be found on the website.
In order to increase the dissemination and reach of the Observatory’s results, the translation of the country fact sheets and key findings from English into French and Spanish has started. Thirty-three of the 122 country profiles, have already been translated for the French- and Spanish- speaking countries covered by the 2019 Report and are now available on the website. Others will follow soon.
